Footstep Sound Test Map

This map will allow you to hear the actual footstep sounds. You can assign different Foley packages (in the editor) and the textures on the floor will tell you what sound type is being heard (if applicable). You can assign a foot step sound to a custom texture that you import. The walls in the middle will show you the hit effect, from bullets, that you can assign to a custom texture that you import. Click here to read a tutorial on importing custom textures and assigning the previous effects.
A ledge was added to allow you to test the falling sound you hear when you jump down on a surface. This happens when you jump down to a floor surface, but you don't die. Just because a map supports footstep sounds for a particular surface doesn't mean it will support the falling sound for the same surface. You need to test it out to be sure.
Instructions to Assign a Foley Package
-Open Map in Editor.
-Hit F6 (level properties) then under R6sounds, on m_SurfaceSwitchSnd click on the "..." (at the end of the line) then select Foley_"Map_Name"RainbowMovement.uax
-After opening the *.uax, select "Play_"Map_Name"_rainbowmovements" and the click on "use" on the m_SurfaceSwitchSnd line.
-on m_BodyFallSwitchSound click on the "..." (at the end of the line), then select "Play_"Map_Name"_BodyFalls" (from the same Foley package you just used for the m_SurfaceSwitchSnd line) and click on "use" on the m_BodyFallSwitchSound line.
-Rebuild and save the map.
-Launch RavenShield.
-Start a "Custom Mission" and choose "Practice."
-Select the map named "Effects Test"
-Press the "Quick Load" button to start up the map.
-You can also load the map by creating a MP Survival server. This can be useful if you are building a map with another person. The name of the map is "Effects Test". (Note: The first version had a problem with the .ini file, this has been fixed with the 08-25-04 update).
Click here to download the map. It includes an installer for your convenience.
